From India to Canada, I, Migrant follows people pursuing the promise of a new life while confronting the sacrifices, pressures and unexpected realities of migration, revealing the resilience required to build a sense of home across borders.
Before the feature documentary reaches audiences in 2027, the filmmakers will offer a first cinematic glimpse into its emotional world through Jee Aayan (Welcome), the official visual epilogue from I, Migrant.
The approximately three-and-a-half-minute piece brings together poetry, music, image, migration and memory.
It features a poem by legendary Punjabi poet Ajmer Rode, music by acclaimed sitarist Mohamed Assani, and appearances by Dr. Satwinder Kaur Bains, Ajmer Rode, Mehnaaz Maan and Narinder Sharma.
“There is no single immigrant experience.”
– Vinay Giridhar, Director & Editor

I, Migrant places lived experience at the centre of the conversation.
